Admissions

Birmingham City Council Admissions Office allocate school places for children starting school for the first time in Reception classes. Admission of any older children is handled by the school directly. The Council's admissions office can be contacted on 0121 303 1888 or email admissions@birmingham.gov.uk or their web site is www.birmingham.gov.uk/schooladmissions .

In order to process your application as quickly as possible it is very important that you tell us which school your child is currently attending. Please ensure the headteacher of your child's current or most recent school completes the declaration in section 2 of the form.

If your child has a Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) this form cannot be used to apply for a school place. You should instead contact SEN Assessment and Review for guidance on 0121 303 1888. https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/senar

Their address is:

PO Box 16513

Local Authority policy is that children are admitted to school in the September following their fourth birthday. Places are offered in the following order of priority:

  • To a child in the care of the Local Authority
  • To a child with a statement of EHCP that names this school (this is rare)
  •  To children with siblings already in the school
  • To those living nearest to the school

In-Year Applications

If you are interested please click here to download an application form. Once completed please email it over to Enquiry@courtfrm.bham.sch.uk along with a photograph of your child's Birth Certificate/Passport and proof of address, for yourself dated within the last 3 months. The original documents will be seen once a place comes available. Alternately, paper copies are available from the school office.

Nursery

We currently have places available in our school nursery for 3/4 year old's. If you wish to apply for a place in our nursery please click here to download an application form. Alternately, paper copies are available from the school office.

We have places for 15 hours and 30 hours nursery timetables, which runs at the same time as the normal school opening hours. Unfortunately, we do not allow parents to pay for additional hours (top-up fees).

We enrol children the term after their 3rd birthday. Enrolment takes place at the beginning of the September term, January term and April (after Easter) term. For example, if your child turns 3 in November, they are able to start with us in the following January.

Our nursery is very popular and we have some parents who have added their child's name to our waiting list when their child is just a few months old. To add your child's name to our waiting list, please complete the form above and return it to the school office (additional proof of ID will be required).

All nursery children need to have an up to date signed provider agreement for funding purposes. These are available from the school office and will be discussed during enrolment.

Children in Birmingham can start school (Reception) in the September after their fourth birthday.

Example: If your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018, they will be able to start school in September 2022.

Birmingham City Council’s School Admissions and Fair Access Service publishes information on their website, informing parent/carers on how to start their child at school. However, the responsibility for applying online for a child to start reception class, remains solely with parent/carers.
